The Outdoor Greatroom Company

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company in Las Vegas

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company makes gas fire pit tables and fire bowls — and makes them as furniture rather than as appliances, which is the reason we carry them. A fire feature is the thing that keeps people in the yard after the cooking is finished, and a good one reads as part of the room rather than as equipment parked in it.

We carry 27 Outdoor GreatRoom pieces, across rectangular, linear, square and round tables, plus fire bowls, in dining and chat heights.

The range

Fire pit tables

The core of the line. Rectangular and linear tables for long seating runs along a wall or a pool edge; square and round tables for a conversational group. Available in chat height, which sits with lounge seating, and dining height, which works as an actual table with chairs — worth thinking about before you choose, because the two produce very different spaces.

Fire bowls

The Cove bowls come in 12, 20 and 30-inch sizes and work where a full table would crowd the space — a corner, a poolside, a small courtyard.

Portable options

The Renegade is a portable gas fire pit table, which is genuinely useful for a rental, a patio that will be reconfigured, or a yard where the layout is not settled.

Choosing a fire feature in Las Vegas

A few things worth knowing before you buy, because they come up on nearly every project.

• Gas supply decides the placement. A table running on a propane tank can sit anywhere. Running natural gas gives you a feature you never refill, but the line has to be run and permitted, and that is easiest decided before hardscape goes in rather than after.
• Wind matters more here than the brochures suggest. Las Vegas gets real wind, and an exposed burner will blow out. Glass wind guards solve it, and placement solves it better.
• Height changes the room. Chat height with lounge seating makes a lounge. Dining height with chairs makes an outdoor dining room. Both are good; they are not interchangeable.
• Fire media is a finish decision. Fire glass, lava rock and ceramic logs look completely different and cost differently. We stock fire glass separately so you can choose deliberately.

Beyond a table: built-in fire features

If you want a fire feature integrated into masonry rather than sitting on it, that is something we build rather than sell from a box — see outdoor fireplaces and fire features. Plenty of projects use both: a built-in fireplace against a wall and a GreatRoom table as the movable centre of the seating.

The tables are on our floor at S Fort Apache, which is the only reliable way to judge the proportions and the finish. Start a layout with the outdoor kitchen designer if the fire feature is part of a larger plan.
