DCS Grills in Las Vegas

DCS — Dynamic Cooking Systems — is the outdoor line of Fisher & Paykel, the New Zealand appliance maker, and it is built the way a commercial kitchen is built: heavy 304 stainless, a grease management system that actually manages grease, and burners that put out serious heat without hot spots. It is a grill for people who cook rather than people who own a grill, and in Las Vegas that distinction matters because the grill gets used nine months of the year.

We carry 101 active DCS products: 45 grills, carts and covers, 12 refrigeration units, 18 under-counter storage pieces, side and power burners, and the accessories that finish an island.

Series 7 and Series 9, explained

DCS makes two grill families, and the difference is more than trim.

Series 7

The core of the range, in 30, 36 and 48-inch widths and in natural gas or propane. Available plain, with rotisserie, with rotisserie and an infrared sear burner, and — on the 48 — with integrated side burners. The 30 and 36 are the sizes that fit most Las Vegas islands; the 48 is for anyone who hosts.

Series 9

The step up, and it is a real one. The Series 9 adds a charcoal option on the 36 — a gas grill that will also burn charcoal properly, which almost nobody else offers — along with rotisserie and infrared sear configurations and the 30-inch "All Grill." Heavier grates, more output, and the one to look at if the grill is the reason for the kitchen.

Carts and covers

DCS "CAD" carts take the built-in grills in 30, 36 and 48 inches, so the same grill can be freestanding now and built in later. Fitted covers exist for every width, built-in or on cart.

Beyond the grill

  • Burners — 14-inch double side burners in Series 7 and Series 9, a 24-inch Series 9 power burner for stock pots and woks, and a 30-inch griddle and double side burner combination.
  • Refrigeration — 24-inch outdoor refrigerators and refrigerator drawers, a 15-inch outdoor ice machine, single and dual-tap beer dispensers, and a 25-inch beverage chiller with sink.
  • Storage — built-in access doors and drawers in several widths, a double drawer tower, a dry pantry, an outdoor warming drawer, and 6-inch storage units sized to sit beside the 36 and 48-inch grills.
  • Protection — a 36-inch insulated jacket for combustible enclosures, and a wireless temperature sensor that works with the grill.
  • Heating — a built-in DCS patio heater.

Buying DCS in Las Vegas

DCS is a grill worth standing in front of. The weight of the hood, the grate thickness and the burner layout are the argument, and none of it photographs. It is on the floor at our S Fort Apache showroom next to Lynx and Twin Eagles, the brands it competes with. We design, fabricate and install complete outdoor kitchens around it as a licensed Nevada contractor, and we sell to homeowners and contractors doing their own installation.

Common Questions

DCS — Common Questions

What is the difference between DCS Series 7 and Series 9?

Series 7 is the core range — 304 stainless, high-output burners, rotisserie and infrared sear options, in 30, 36 and 48 inches. Series 9 is the step up: heavier grates, more output, and on the 36-inch a genuine charcoal option, so one grill burns gas or charcoal properly. If the grill is the centrepiece of the kitchen, Series 9 is worth seeing in person.

Who makes DCS grills?

DCS is the outdoor cooking line of Fisher & Paykel, the New Zealand appliance manufacturer. The design heritage is commercial kitchen equipment, which is why the grease management, burner layout and build weight feel more like a restaurant range than a backyard grill.

Can a DCS grill be freestanding instead of built in?

Yes. DCS makes carts for the 30, 36 and 48-inch grills, so the same unit can live on a cart now and be built into an island later. We stock the carts and the fitted covers for both configurations.

Does DCS make outdoor refrigeration to match the grill?

Yes — 24-inch outdoor refrigerators and refrigerator drawers, a 15-inch outdoor ice machine, single and dual-tap beer dispensers and a beverage chiller with sink. Specifying the refrigeration from the same brand as the grill keeps the stainless finish and the door reveals consistent across the island.

Do I need an insulated jacket for a DCS grill?

If the grill is going into an enclosure with any combustible material — a wood-framed island, for example — yes, and DCS makes one for the 36-inch. In a steel-framed or masonry island it is usually not required. We check this on every build rather than guessing, because it is a fire safety question, not a finish question.

Does BBQ Concepts install DCS grills in Las Vegas?

Yes. We are a licensed and insured Nevada contractor handling design, fabrication and installation in-house, so the cutout, gas sizing, electrical for the rotisserie and lighting, and the permits are one job. We also sell DCS to homeowners and contractors doing their own installation.
