Traeger Pro 780 Review
Wood Pellet Grill
New for 2019

BBQ Concepts is the Las Vegas expert on outdoor kitchens, barbecue grills, and smokers. We are excited to review some of the details about the new Traeger Pro 780 Wood Pellet Grill.

BIG FLAVOR – Traeger Pro 780 Review

The Traeger Pro 780 has a variable speed fan and auger provide the optimal level of smoke for the best flavor. Equipped with TurboTemp, this wood pellet grill starts hotter and faster and maintains more consistent cooking temperatures for optimal results. The direct drive fan and variable speed auger is powered by the industry’s first brushless motor so that it will last for many years.

Traeger “Set it and forget it” Cooking Technology

Starting with the all new D2 cooking system, things get cooking with the Hopper. The hopper is the box on the side of the Traeger where seasoned wood pellets are poured to provide the heat and smoke flavor. Simply choose your pellet flavor and pour them into the hopper. The controls on the front of the hopper are easy to use to get your grill cooking. Turn on the grill, set your temperature, and the seasoned wood pellets travel along our reliable Auger drive to the Fire Pot. The Fire Pot is where the heat meets the wood fire pellets and generates the heat and smoke for outstanding barbecue flavor. Our auto-ignition starts the Hot Rod, which ignites the pellets to create the fire. The variable speed fan stokes the fire while also circulating the smoke for consistent cooking.

Traeger WiFIRE Technology

Traeger’s WiFIRE technology keeps you informed of your cooking process while the heat and smoke work their way into your meal. WiFIRE technology utilizes an application for your smartphone so that you can monitor every step of the process. No need to keep checking your smoker, Traeger’s WiFIRE app will keep you updated!

Traeger Pro 780 Review

Traeger has long been a trusted name in outdoor barbecue wood pellet grills. The new Pro 780 model from Traeger combines the best of Traeger’s engineering and their newest technology to deliver excellence in your outdoor cooking adventures. With the all new D2 controller, WiFIRE technology, and Fire Pot, your barbecue never tasted so good. Easy to use, durable construction, and application connectivity ensure that you will be the hit of any barbecue party. Stop by BBQ Concepts in Las Vegas and see for yourself!

From the manufacturer-
“TRAEGER INVENTED THE ORIGINAL WOOD PELLET GRILL
over 30 years ago in Mt. Angel, Oregon, and continues to lead
the industry as the worlds #1 selling wood-fired grill, perfected
by decades of mastering the craft of wood-fired cooking.
A Traeger grill will transform the way you cook because it fires
up consistent results every single time. Taste the wood-fired
difference with Traeger.”

Best Materials for Your Outdoor Kitchen

Custom Outdoor Kitchen by BBQ Concepts of Las Vegas, Nevada - Your source for professional outdoor kitchens, barbecue grills, components, and accessories

BBQ Concepts – Las Vegas, Nevada

Southern Nevada is home to some of the best outdoor kitchens and BBQ Concepts in Las Vegas, Nevada has the best materials for your outdoor kitchen. BBQ Concepts has everything you need for building an outdoor kitchen that lasts. In this article, we will review some of the best materials used for modern outdoor kitchens. Not all outdoor kitchens are built the same, so let us review the best options.

From the bottom up

Starting with flooring options for an outdoor kitchen, two of the most popular options are poured concrete and stone pavers. Poured concrete is durable and can take the heat from the blazing summer sun. Stone pavers are also very durable and come in a variety of colors and textures. Concrete and stone create an easy to clean and very durable foundation for an outdoor kitchen or living area. Stone pavers are decorative, as well as, highly functional in an outdoor kitchen. With the help of modern coating materials, these stone and concrete foundations can be coated with a heat-resistant surface coating that prevents the ground from becoming too hot to walk on in bare feet… or hot enough to cook an egg.

The structure of a barbecue island

Barbecue islands are the centerpiece for any outdoor kitchen. The less expensive option for barbecue islands is stainless steel, which works well and will hold up well year round. One of the big drawbacks of stainless steel is that it can be tricky to keep clean and smudge free. A better option for the built-in barbecue structure is using concrete or steel to build the frame, and then using Dekton brick panels to wrap and protect the barbecue island. Wood is another popular option for outdoor kitchens, however; wooden structures, cupboards, and furniture combined with the desert heat do not traditionally mix well. The sun will dry and crack wood unless great care has been taken to protect it. Stick with a steel or concrete frame and the barbecue island will last years longer.

Top off the outdoor kitchen

The two most commonly used countertop materials are poured concrete and granite. When it comes to outdoor kitchens, the countertop will make or break a design. Granite comes in ‘levels’ of patterns and quality. A level 1 granite will have a less notable pattern and color style than a level 3 granite. Having an outdoor kitchen countertop that is very durable and easy to clean cannot be understated. Granite is the best option for durability and stain resistance. Granite countertops are non-porous and will resist stains from spilled food and drinks.

To summarize the best materials for an outdoor kitchen:
Concrete or stone paver foundation
Concrete or steel frame barbecue island structure
Dekton/Stone tile covering for the barbecue island
Granite or poured concrete countertop

Las Vegas Outdoor Kitchens – BBQ Concepts

Outdoor Kitchen Enclosure by BBQ Concepts - Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas, Nevada – Outdoor Kitchens Review

In Las Vegas, Outdoor Kitchens are like a national pastime. BBQ Concepts specializes in outdoor kitchens and outdoor living areas. With years of experience, the team at BBQ Concepts can help build the outdoor kitchen of your dreams. We carry a large selection of built-in barbecue grills/smokers from names like Lynx, Alfresco, Fire Magic, DCS, and are Southern Nevada’s largest Traeger dealer!

BBQ Concepts and outdoor kitchens go together like rib-eye and rub or asparagus and garlic butter!

Planning an outdoor kitchen

After talking about what a customer would like to have in their outdoor kitchen, the team at BBQ Concepts helps with the consultation, survey, design, and planning. Yard inspection will help identify any potential issues with an outdoor kitchen or living area design. The inspection process will make sure the area can support any utility needs such as gas, power, and water. The biggest obstacle to building an outdoor kitchen is making sure the area can contain the design and build plan. Accommodations will need to be made so that utility connections can reach the appropriate spots. Once the consultation and inspections are complete, the final project for the outdoor kitchen is drafted. The architect, contractors, and designers formulate the roll-out and schedule the construction.

Las Vegas outdoor kitchens typically have a built-in grill or smoker, an outdoor rated refrigerator, and storage drawers. Some of the other items commonly found in an outdoor kitchen are sink and faucet, isolated trash drawer, access doors for plumbing and gas lines, extended bar countertop, LED lighting systems, and even home entertainment systems such as an outdoor rated HDTV and entertainment system. The structures of the barbecue islands are typically wrapped in a variety of stacked stone and topped with level 1-3 granite or poured concrete countertops. Having so many options in outdoor kitchen appliances and accessories are an excellent reason to have experienced people install your outdoor kitchen. The design has to accommodate the available space and budget, that is where experience pays off.

Outdoor Kitchens Las Vegas Nevada

With the unusual ice and snow in Las Vegas finally over for the season, it’s time to talk about Outdoor Kitchens in Las Vegas, Nevada!

BBQ Concepts of Las Vegas has the experience and supplies to help build the outdoor kitchen that you desire. But what if you are not sure what you want or know how to find it? With just a few ideas, an entire vision for an outdoor kitchen or living area can happen. That is where the experts at BBQ Concepts can assist! Let’s review what an outdoor kitchen is all about.

The budget

Without funds, an outdoor kitchen remains a dream. Before you can plan your outdoor kitchen, always know your budget for the project. Knowing how much money you have budgeted is helpful for the planning stage of an outdoor kitchen project. There are many options to choose from, and costs can quickly overrun without proper diligence. Know your budget and stick to it.

The planning for your outdoor kitchen

Have an idea about the appliances you would like to have in your outdoor kitchen. There are basic outdoor kitchen ideas such as having a built-in barbecue grill, a small sink, an outdoor refrigerator, and a place to store your utensils. Other options include trash disposal drawers, storage drawers, extended countertops, seating areas, dining areas, wet bars, and the list goes on from there. Once you have an idea about what you want in your outdoor kitchen, you are ready to talk to a professional.

The Consultation

This part of an outdoor kitchen project is where ideas, budget, and reality come together. It’s time to develop into a construction and installation plan. A specialist inspects the property to plan a layout and calculate installation with costs based on requirements for electricity, gas, and water along with construction and outdoor rated appliances. The consultation is a crucial part of any successful outdoor kitchen project. Having experienced people guiding the process is well worth the cost.

The Permits

Once an outdoor kitchen project is mapped out, secure the permits for the project. Construction and utility work will always require permits before construction can begin.

The Construction

When planned out well, the architect, contractors, and construction workers coordinate to build the foundation and run the utility connections. Appliances, cabinetry, and countertops arrive and placed. Everything that needs to happen to bring the dream to reality occurs in this part of the plan. The time required for construction entirely depends on the design and scale of the outdoor kitchen project.

The Final Touches

With the outdoor kitchen built and successfully tested, the fun part begins! All of the little things that make your outdoor kitchen functional and personal find their way. Some of the favorite items found in outdoor kitchens and living areas include LED lighting, outdoor rated audio/video entertainment, wet bars, counter islands and couches for seating. Some add useful items like patio heaters and fire features to their outdoor living areas.

BBQ Concepts & Traeger Wood Pellet Grills Unite for a Charitable Cause – Supplying Local Henderson, Nevada Fire Departments with Traeger Grills

A few months back BBQ Concepts donated ten different Traeger grills to the Fire Stations of Henderson, Nevada, an outskirt of Las Vegas. This gesture was unprompted and without motive, other than cementing the underlying appreciation we have for our silent heroes. These heroes are rarely seen, talked about nor publicized. Their jobs, despite the inherent danger, seem mundane to us, all too common, subconsciously unworthy of the gratification that deservedly needs expression. Sometimes heroes don’t even recognize themselves as such any longer. When extraordinary becomes a standard, when death-defiance is no longer atypical, the mirror that reflects their image becomes distorted. But we see you, ladies and gentlemen. The heart you have for change and the guts you put on display as you never shy from adversity. The blood rushing through your veins, the adrenaline that you’re too engrossed to notice.

August 8th, 2018 will be the second wave of support as our overt cabal congregates in celebratory fashion for the men and women whom never shudder in the face of fear. Outdoor Kitchens are gradually popularizing themselves across the great state of Nevada. In large part, this predictable phenomenon is due to their limitless personalization, but much of the sensation is from their adequacy as futuristic workstations for the enthusiast, professional or avid host and hostess. Beautifully constructed yet adulated for their aesthetic simplicity, they grab attention, inspire creativity, magnetize you to be around them, to cook more, and to relax just as often. They’re to be respected, and by owning one, you’ll see just how many memories they’ll help you create.

“I watch the flame move to and fro, almost in slow-motion as I stand in awe of how perfect it doesn’t know it is. Off in the distance, there’s a patter of footsteps accompanied by laughter. Bubbles are blown into the humid air as the moisture attaches itself to the fragile and malleable spheres that float directionless. As directionless as the joy the children feel until it drifts away in an evening dream, only to come back like the morning sunrise. I watch them through my window, across the smells of smoke as it shrouds my vision but not my perception; and I find myself holding my breath as the world turns slower than my thoughts, absorbing memories like nutrition until the last person leaves. How perfect it is. If the flame could speak, I wonder if it would feel the same way about me, at this moment, as I do it.”

BBQ Concepts, a Las Vegas, Nevada retailer for Lynx, Summerset, Traeger, Alfresco, Fire Magic, DCS and True Refrigeration, proudly serves our city the most exceptional grills, components, accessories and outdoor kitchens the world has yet seen. You’ll not only be happy with what you purchase, but who you bought it from.

The Art of Preparing, Creating and Delivering Your Outdoor Kitchen by BBQ Concepts

Custom Outdoor Kitchen Superstore of Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Nevada - BBQ Concepts

BBQ Concepts of Las Vegas, Nevada is more than just a retailer of brand names like Traeger, True, Alfresco and other standalone barbecue grills. They’re more than the pellets, sauces, seasonings, and accessories you’ll need to conquer your ambitions with the spatula. They’re also consultants and experts of the exotic Outdoor Kitchen, a marvel rarely found in the wild and used only by the most serious party hosts and enthusiasts of food preparation. They’re masters at sculpting your vision as they chisel away at the limitations, creating a seamlessly crafted, personalized outdoor living station engineered uniquely for your needs, both through its applicability and aesthetics.

“So how do we get from the consultation to the final product and what can I do to prepare myself accordingly?”

Before we iron out all the details during the consultation, it’s beneficial for both parties if the following series of questions are considered and determined prior to our engagement; be confident in how you wish to design your living space but open to the potential limitations we previously discussed. With that said, let’s get your checklist going.

Questions to Consider In Advance

1. Are functions with family and friends something you’ll entertain after having an Outdoor Kitchen?
2. Would you enjoy the luxury of running water, refrigeration or natural gas?
3. Do you have a water line/gas line running to your ideal landing zone for the kitchen? If not, have you inquired about an estimate?
4. Which fuel source do you prefer? Natural gas, charcoal, propane?
5. Will you be consuming the food outdoors as well? If so, have you considered your seating arrangement and if a built-in bar is right for you?
6. Will you predominately be smoking, grilling or baking your foods?
7. Which type of material finishes were you thinking of applying? Climate is a consideration. (More on this later)
8. Are functional storage and/or trash storage something you’re interested in incorporating?
9. What design layout/dimensions seem to be the most plausible for the space you’re designating? (More on this shortly)
10. What is your overall budget?
11. And finally, have you spoken with a design consultant yet?

These questions are necessary for us to move forward with the process and for you to feel like there’s no stone unturned. Without answering the aforementioned—and undoubtedly many more questions—you’ll forever be left wondering, “what if we went with gas instead?” or “you know, we really should’ve added a bar to our Outdoor Kitchen.”

Structural Layouts

Now that you know an undercounter refrigerator makes sense or that a built-in bar would decongest your home during gatherings, let’s talk about the shape of your Outdoor Kitchen. There are four main design choices, but we don’t have to adhere to them unwaveringly. The first is Linear and, as the word suggests, its straight, sleek and traditional. The second formation is L-shaped. Stylish in its diversity and simplicity, the user can create an imaginary partition to separate the food preparation from the kitchen’s inherent functionality. The Horse Shoe (or U-Shape) is third. Doubling the lateral counter space, it is dynamic and more multipurpose than the other options but may also minimize the center weight of the kitchen depending on your budget. Lastly is the Split Level. This design choice is tiered where there’s a bar top above the standard counter; it substantially increases the surface area for your workstation but is limiting due to its depth. If you have the appropriate space, it’s hard to go wrong.

Material Selection

Polymer, stainless steel, wood, granite, concrete, tile, and flagstone are a few of the choices you can select from during the overlaying of your Outdoor Kitchen. Weather plays a critical role in which materials should be used for year-round outdoor exposure, however. From ultraviolet rays to humidity and generally damp conditions, all can be kryptonite to varying exteriors. Speak with a BBQ Concepts representative during your consultation and see if your living situation applies to a particular substance.

Outdoor Kitchen Accessories

From climate controlled drawers to wine coolers, pizza ovens to high-arc faucets, the options are nearly infinite. During our consultation tell us where, how many and with what you’d like to customize your Outdoor Kitchen. We love personalizing every workstation so don’t hesitate to express your vision.

Built-In Grills

Another consideration is what type of built-in grill you’ll be selecting. Because it’s the staple of your Outdoor Kitchen, it’s important to choose something that’ll endure not only weather but obsolescence. In addition, you’ll want a manufacturer that will be around longer than your warranty. If servicing is required, a brand named grill can almost guarantee a relationship when you need it. At BBQ Concepts, we provide some of the most state-of-the-art grills that will sustain your barbecuing relevance for years to come.

Rogue Off-Road and The Las Vegas Veterans Event – BBQ Concepts Gives Back

BBQ Concepts partakes in a charity for The Las Vegas Veterans Event near The Motor Speedway

Food For the Sol-dier

June 24th was a special day for BBQ Concepts and the Las Vegas Veterans. While some of our staff still manned our proverbial battle stations at the shop, a few of us took a break from the outdoor kitchens, grills and accessories and devoted our time to a cause that unequivocally affords us our freedoms. It was an honor to be serving up pulled pork straight from the Traeger as we filled the stomachs of all the Off-Road enthusiasts and patriots that attended the event. On location there were music, jacked-up Jeeps and Toyotas with campers attached to them and memorable conversations with our community. Enjoyable is an understatement.

A jeep parked at the Rogue Off-Road Charity event outside The Las Vegas Motor Speedway

It’s hard to not get too internal–with the 4th of July inbound–about how surreal  an experience it truly is to feel the constructs of what makes this a holiday; to associate and congregate under a common thread of remembrance, gratefulness and servitude at a function that embodies American muscle and American tradition is definitely bad a$$. And because cooking and family are such vital components to the Independence Day experience, because preparing food is an act of love, what better way to show our appreciation for the Las Vegas Veterans, their kin and all the supporters who attended, than to do what we do best: share love.

John (left) and Zane Cerul from BBQ Concepts preparing pulled pork for attendees.

For John and Zane Cerul and the rest of the BBQ Concepts team, we hope you have a fantastic 4th next month. Please be safe, kind and responsible. And when thinking of purchasing outdoor kitchens or any accessories for grilling in general, keep us mind. We’d be more than happy to serve you with the same integrity we serve our soldiers.

Over and out.
