Food For the Sol-dier
June 24th was a special day for BBQ Concepts and the Las Vegas Veterans. While some of our staff still manned our proverbial battle stations at the shop, a few of us took a break from the outdoor kitchens, grills and accessories and devoted our time to a cause that unequivocally affords us our freedoms. It was an honor to be serving up pulled pork straight from the Traeger as we filled the stomachs of all the Off-Road enthusiasts and patriots that attended the event. On location there were music, jacked-up Jeeps and Toyotas with campers attached to them and memorable conversations with our community. Enjoyable is an understatement.
It’s hard to not get too internal–with the 4th of July inbound–about how surreal an experience it truly is to feel the constructs of what makes this a holiday; to associate and congregate under a common thread of remembrance, gratefulness and servitude at a function that embodies American muscle and American tradition is definitely bad a$$. And because cooking and family are such vital components to the Independence Day experience, because preparing food is an act of love, what better way to show our appreciation for the Las Vegas Veterans, their kin and all the supporters who attended, than to do what we do best: share love.
For John and Zane Cerul and the rest of the BBQ Concepts team, we hope you have a fantastic 4th next month. Please be safe, kind and responsible. And when thinking of purchasing outdoor kitchens or any accessories for grilling in general, keep us mind. We’d be more than happy to serve you with the same integrity we serve our soldiers.
Over and out.
